Connect with the Library:

Book Group for Homeschoolers!

Thursday, February 15 - 10:30am - 11:15am
Location: Sam L. Cohen Children’s Library
Audience: Kids & Families
Children ages 9-12 are welcome to join Portland Public Library’s homeschool book discussion group.

Come join a  community of readers that meet once a month to enjoy some lively conversation about literature and share yummy (and wholesome!) snacks. This month we’ll be discussing Sugar by Jewell Parker Rhodes.

In 1870, Reconstruction brings big changes to the Louisiana sugar plantation where spunky ten-year-old Sugar has always lived, including her friendship with Billy, the son of her former master, and the arrival of workmen from China.

If you have children that are interested in joining the book group or you have any questions, please contact Jerri  at 871-1700 ext.707 or blatt@portlib.org.
