The Sam L. Cohen Children’s Library is delighted to present a Creative Movement class taught by teachers and students in Portland School of Ballet’s Young Dancer Program. The class will meet in the Library on the third Saturday of the month from 10:30 – 11:00, beginning on September 15. This class is for children ages 4-7.
Portland School of Ballet’s Young Dancer Program’s goal is to establish a sense of movement to music, and to develop dancers for the next stage of classical ballet training. The faculty for the Young Dancers aim to create a fun and healthy environment for all students which is dedicated to their needs, while at the same time preparing them for their next steps.
Founded in 1980, Portland Ballet is Maine’s only professional ballet company. The affiliated Portland School of Ballet is dedicated to bringing dance to people of all ages and skill levels, while at the same time maintaining its focus on training young men and women for professional careers.
