Join us and listen as award winning journalist, novelist, playwright and screenwriter Robert Greenfield talks about his life as a writer. He will read from his recently released book: Ain’t It Time We Said Goodbye: The Rolling Stones on the Road to Exile, and take questions from the audience.
Ain’t It Time We Said Goodbye, published by Da Capo Press/Perseus Books in May 2014, is Mr. Greenfield’s first-hand account of the Rolling Stones’ farewell tour of Great Britain in March, 1971. A former Asssociate Editor of the London bureau of Rolling Stone magazine, Mr. Greenfield’s journalism has been published in numerous anthologies. His short fiction has appeared in Esquire, GQ, and Playboy magazines.
A Peaks Island summer resident, Mr. Greenfield is the author of twelve books, among them the classic STP: A Journey Through America With the Rolling Stones. His novel Temple, which won the National Jewish Book Award and was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and Timothy Leary: A Biography, were both favorably reviewed on the front page of The New York Sunday Times Book Review. Both the Wall Street Journal and Sports Illustrated magazine named his first novel, Haymon’s Crowd, as one of the ten best books ever written about basketball. He lives in California.
