If you’re interested in donating items, please bring them to the Research Desk on the Lower Level of the Main Library starting November 14th. All of the items collected will support the Knit for Your Neighbors program.

To kick off our event, the library will host a Sit n’ Knit event on second Wednesday of November, 11/14 from 4-7pm in the Atrium. Join us for tea, conversation, crocheting, and knitting! We have a limited supply of yarn and needles available to use but encourage you to bring your own needles. Finish your handmade item at home and then bring it back to the reference desk. We’ll put a tag on it and distribute it to a person in need of a warm item.

There is no cost for the program and no need to register. Please call 871-1700 x729 or email gray@portllandpubliclibrary.org if you have questions about the program.

*We cannot accept used items for this program, but encourage you to donate your unwanted used items in good condition to local agencies such as Preble Street, The Root Cellar, and Good Cause Thrift Shop.
