Noonday Concert Series Online – VentiCordi

Thursday, Mar 18 - Wednesday, March 31
12:00pm - 5:00pm

Location: ONLINE
Audience: Adults, Seniors

The Noonday Concert Series provides free access to live performances by Maine’s most talented musicians throughout the academic year. The series has always been an integral part of the Conservatory’s mission to provide equal access to high quality music and highlight its talented faculty and students.

VentiCordi explores creative frontiers beyond the usual constraints of traditional chamber groups.

VentiCordi (Winds and Strings) is a musical collaboration between oboist Kathleen McNerney and violinist Dean Stein, combining their love of chamber music with innovative programming that blends wind and string instruments. Both have performed nationally and internationally as members of professional chamber ensembles.

Founded in 2009 in the Kennebunks, VentiCordi’s musical home is the historic South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport. The group performs throughout Maine and are regularly featured on the concert series of the Portland String Quartet Society.

The performances are free but do require registration. Please visit this link to reserve your viewing space!

About the Series » Noonday Concert Series

Founded in 1995, the Portland Conservatory of Music is a nonprofit community music school.  They educate through musical instruction and concert performances. The Noonday Concert Series offers free access to performances by the Conservatory’s talented faculty, arguably among Maine’s most esteemed musicians.  The weekly concerts are held in downtown Portland throughout the academic year.  The series has always been an integral part of the Conservatory’s mission to provide equal access to quality music and highlight its talented faculty and students.

To keep us all safe, this year’s concert series will be presented online. Starting in November, new concerts will be posted on the first and third Thursdays of each month through May 20. Each concert will be featured on our homepage until superseded by the next concert.

We have changed the online format this season. Each video will be short in duration, 3-5 minutes, and our faculty will talk about and demonstrate their instruments. They will also share interesting aspects about the piece/s they will perform. We hope you enjoy them!
