mscwMaine Startup & Create Week (June 12-20, 2014) is a week long event In Portland, Maine celebrating innovators, entrepreneurs & startups across Maine!

Founded in 2014, Maine Startup & Create Week (MSCW) is an eight-day celebration (from June 12-20) of startups, innovators, entrepreneurs and creatives in Portland and throughout Maine. This week is designed showcase Maine’s vibrant, growing startup community to the greater Maine community and to visiting guests from around the country.

MSCW will include more than 30 events including Startup Weekend, the PROPEL entreverge Awards, a startup bazaar, a startup career and internship fair, and numerous inspirational and educational programs.

The week will feature workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies. It’s a frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. At the end of the week, you will be better prepared to navigate the chaotic, fun world of the startup.

MSCW is led by a broad steering committee of individuals and organizations who are involved in supporting the growth of startups, entrepreneurs and creative innovators. This group includes: Startup Portland, Portland Public Library, PelotonLabs, Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development, Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce, Creative Portland, Maine Center for Creativity, Big Room Studios, Shines & Jecker Labs, and SMCC’s Entrepreneurship Center.  REGISTER NOW

The week long event kicks off with Portland Startup Weekend,  a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 700 past events in over 100 countries around the world, starting more than 10,000 startups. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend- long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies. The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle.
