Location: S. Donald Sussman Teen Library
Week 1: Introductions, No Reading Assignment
About the Series » Private: Wrecked Book Discussion Group for Teens
The Portland Public Teen Library is partnering with the Young Adult Abuse Prevention Program (YAAPP) to read and discuss author Marie Padian’s new YA novel Wrecked. This month-long book group coincides with Sexual Assault Awareness Month and will conclude with a visit with the author and a panel discussion about the book.
We will meet each Saturday in April at the Teen Library to discuss a sequential section of the book with YAAPP facilitators and Teen staff. Please see the meeting schedule below. We welcome any teen who has read/is reading the book to attend a meeting and you do not have to attend all the meetings in order to participate, though we strongly encourage interested teens to attend the first meeting on Saturday, April 1.
Our final meeting will take place on Saturday, April 29 at 12 PM. We will have pizza and discuss the end of the book with the author herself in advance of her panel discussion at the library later in the afternoon.
