USCIS Immigration Corner

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has provided PPL with a collection of resources to help immigrants and refugees prepare for their next steps in the immigration process; including items that folks can keep for their private library or to share with friends.  The materials are located on the Lower Level at the Main Library. If you would prefer to pick materials up a branch let us know and we will get them there for you.

In addition, the USCIS holds outreach sessions at the Main Library. They will be at the Library on the dates listed at the bottom of this page.

Description: USCIS personnel from the Portland Field Office will be on hand to provide case status updates as well as to provide general information. Staff will also be able to answer questions about USCIS programs including naturalization, citizenship, permanent residency and other immigration related benefits. Free educational materials will also be available while supplies last.

Those interested in the naturalization process will receive information about eligibility and residency requirements, application forms, fees and processing times. Those individuals interested in checking on the status of their case are advised to bring all relevant documentation with them at the time of query.
