Each year the Camden Conference partners with organizations like PPL to bring original programming to our community in addition to the conference itself, held in mid-coast Maine. This year marks the 38th year of the conference and the theme is: Democracy Under Threat: A Global Perspective.

Location: Downtown Library, Rines Auditorium Audience: Adults, Seniors Georges Budagu Makoko will discuss recommendations on how we all can support the immigrant community to become more civically engaged citizens and will highlight the benefits that come from this process.

Camden Conference Community Event: How the Zeitgeist Influences Structural Failures in Global Democracy

Location: Downtown Library, Rines Auditorium Audience: Adults, Seniors Luc Kuanzambi will give a broad overview of problems in global democracy, offer an outsider's view of American politics as the U.S. presidential election approaches, and discuss the challenges immigrants face in becoming active and engaged citizens.
