Teen Snack Chats with STEM Sisters
This special series of Snack Chats connects teen girls with young women studying and working in STEM fields. Drop in for a casual conversation and bring your questions for these women working in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! The Teen Library will provide delicious snacks to fuel the discussion!
We’ll be posting exact dates, times, and fields of study as we arrange them, so be sure to visit the Teen page of the PPL website to find out who’s visiting next.
About STEM Sisters
STEM Sisters is a new initiative out of USM that connects young women and working women professionals in the Portland area in the STEM fields to high school girls in hopes of encouraging STEM aspirations. From learning about biomimicry to emerging technologies, students will get the opportunity to explore interesting topics and interact with those who are doing amazing things in STEM and learn about their story and how and why they got to where they are today. STEM is multi-faceted and is what you make it!

About PPL Teen Snack Chats
Our goal is to bring topical and relevant conversations directly to the young people who use our library. We invite teens to share a snack and a conversation with a diverse array of passionate professionals working in the Portland community. Topics can be hyper-local all the way to global and universal — you never know where the conversation will take us! Past Snack Chat topics include, “Bystander Intervention”, “Heroin”, and “Being Muslim in America”. For more information, please contact Kelley Blue, Lead Teen Librarian, firstname.lastname@example.org.
