Connect with the Library:

Due to the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases in Maine, Portland Public Library is prioritizing the health and safety of our patrons and staff and has decided to return to offering only PPL To Go service at all locations.  Email, phone, and online services are all continuing.

Main Library PPL To Go services are Mon-Fri, 11 am – 4 pm

Burbank, Riverton & Peaks will continue their current PPL To Go service hours. Pickups at all locations do not need appointments.

All locations remain a no-contact pickup service. The process of placing new holds remains the same as it always has been.

For the safety of our staff and the community, we do require face masks and social distancing at all times.

MaineCat requesting from libraries outside PPL is now available!!
Please be aware that quarantining of materials will cause some delays in the process so your MaineCat requests may not arrive as quickly as they did previously.

Important Notes:

Following best practices for safely handling materials, we are placing the contents of our book drops on quarantine for 7 days before handling them and checking them in. This means your items will not be checked in right away. Remember, we no longer charge late fees, so this should not affect your ability to borrow.

If you require curbside service, this must be arranged ahead of time and is only available on a limited basis due to staffing and safety constraints.
