ILL for Maine Region 1 & 2 Libraries

We welcome ILL requests from libraries in Maine Region 1.  If you are new to  ILL or have questions about how it works, please read our guide to getting started. Many titles are available for direct request from our catalog.

Can’t find it in our catalog? Make a request through WorldShare ILL using your library URL provided to you by PPL in June 2017.  If you do not have this URL please call us at 207-871-1735 or send an email to ill@portlib.org.

For the titles we do not own, our goal is to provide you with fast, free loans from nearby libraries. If we do not find available copies in-state for you, we will search farther afield via WorldCat. If you do not want us to search beyond Maine or New England for you, please indicate so in the notes field.

Can my library borrow this item from PPL? Before you fill out an ILL request form in WorldShare ILL, please check our catalog, where you may reserve materials that PPL owns using your library’s 14-digit PPL card number.

Please note that recently published books, movies and textbooks are often difficult to obtain via ILL; many lenders place restrictions on high-demand items.
