Saturday, April 25, the annual Urban Runoff 5K and Green Neighbor Family Fest will take place at Deering High School across from the Burbank Branch. Both lanes of Stevens Ave between Pleasant and Higgins will be closed to traffic from 7am-3pm. Side streets, including Orkney, will be open to local traffic. Please use care entering or leaving the Burbank parking lot.

Portland Public Library offers free passes to some local Museums and cultural sites. To request a pass for a specific date, with your Library card, call or visit the Lending Desk at any of our locations.

Tate House Museum        NEW !!! Tate House museum

  • Pass admits up to 4 people for one visit
  • For families or individuals, but not intended for organized groups such as camps or scouts
  • Each library location offers only one pass per day
  • 1 pass/patron/month
  • The Tate House is open June through October

Portland Museum of Art

  • Pass admits up to 2 adults and 6 children for one visit
  • Each library location offers only one pass per day
  • 1 pass/patron/month

Portland Observatory

  • Pass admits 1 person to the Observatory Tour
  • Each library location offers two passes per day
  • 1 pass/patron/month (a patron may request both passes for one day)
  • The Observatory’s season is usually Memorial Day through Columbus Day

Maine State Museum (Augusta)

  • Pass admits 4 people
  • For families or individuals, but not intended for organized groups such as camps or scouts
  • No limits on how many passes a patron may use

Southworth Planetarium (USM Portland Campus)

  • Pass admits up to 6 people
  • For families or individuals, but not intended for organized groups such as camps or scouts
  • Each library location offers only one pass per day
  • 1 pass/patron/month
  • You may use your pass on any day you choose
