The renovation project is underway – be part of the team!

A message from the leaders of the New Vision Campaign:

Islanders, the Peaks Island renovation project needs you! Construction on our Peaks Island branch library and community center begins in late September, with expected completion in Spring 2018.

Thanks to generous contributions from the Kennedy-Carter family, the City of Portland, and the Island Community, we have raised all but $70,000 of the $900,000 needed to cover the full construction costs. The New Vision Campaign needs to raise just $45,000, and the Kennedy-Carter family has offered to match the first $25,000.

Your support will help us cross the finish line! Please join with your neighbors in giving to this project to revitalize our Peaks Island branch library and community center. Remember, the Kennedy-Carter family will match the first $25,000 raised, so your gift will be worth twice as much.

Your contributions – of any amount – by December 31, 2017, will make the difference!

Funding Sources:

  • $270,000 – City of Portland/Portland Public Library
  • $227,000 – Peaks Island Community – New Vision Campaign Phase 1
  • $200,000 – Kennedy-Carter Family
  • $43,000 – Friends of the Peaks Island Library

  • $25,000 – Kennedy-Carter Family Challenge Grant
  • $45,000 – New Vision Campaign – Dec. 31 Goal
