Poster of Portland Stage's production of "Manning" by Benjamin Benne

Join us for a Book Club-style Page to Stage with the Portland Stage. Check out your copy of the script and join us two weeks before previews of each Mainstage Production. Scripts are available at the reference desk at the Downtown Library. This year discussions will be held in person and we invite you to chat about the plays with Literary Manager Todd Brian Backus, his Directing and Dramaturgy Apprentices, and special guests.

About the play:
A father and his sons spread the ashes of his wife/their mother in their backyard garden. When a giant zucchini manifests overnight, they each begin to develop language for their individual experiences of loss through their interactions with the supernatural vegetable. Manning is a play by Benjamin Benne.
