Children’s librarians have kept the art of storytelling alive for many years. In Portland, Lysla Abbott was a well-known teller from the library who told at the schools throughout the city. The storytelling tradition continues at the library – and partnering with MOOSE was the perfect arrangement as both organizations are instrumental in keeping the spoken word alive and well.
The library partners with MOOSE (Maine Organization Of Storytelling Enthusiasts) monthly – in presenting an evening of stories for adults on the second Wednesday of each month. The program is free but donations are suggested.
