TumbleBooks offers free access to libraries and schools until August 31.
Our patrons have enjoyed TumbleBooks for years – it is one of our most popular databases. At this most extraordinary time with schools and libraries closed around the state and around the country, TumbleBooks is offering access to some of their other databases: TumbleMath (K-6 Math ebook database) and AudioBookCloud (which includes titles for children through adults.) In addition there is a Teen Book Cloud for grades 7-12 and an Adult Romance data base that can be found in the Resources for adults.
We thank TumbleBooks for their generosity – and hope our patrons enjoy these new resources.
The Digital Maine Library has it all! You’ll find cool things – like sharks and pets and the solar system and sports and graphic novels. Our brand new resources have it all, from language learning to reading recommendations and popular magazines as well as easy-to-use research databases fro any class or topic.
Library cards and special loan privileges are available to adults working in child care centers, preschools and family day care homes. Along with books in the Library’s collection, there are also 60+ thematic book boxes that can be borrowed.
SEED = Student Education, Entertainment, and Discovery. A partnership between Portland Public Library and Portland Public Schools, SEED numbers allow all middle and high school students to access public library resources with their unique school ID numbers.
